Sowing cover crops: Working cost-effectively with the TEGOSEM
More efficient cover crop cultivation - tillage & sowing in a single pass
The 2019 harvest season is gaining momentum and the first areas will have been harvested over the coming weeks. Stubble cultivation and subsequent cover crop sowing often fall within a narrow time frame. Cover crop cultivation is a good way of fulfilling greening obligations. It is also important to retain the residual nitrogen in the plants, prevent wind and water erosion and shape the landscape.
With the TEGOSEM sowing unit, PÖTTINGER offers a cost effective method of sowing in combination with the TERRADISC disc harrow or the SYNKRO stubble cultivator. Eliminating one of the passes also avoids soil compaction. The earlier sowing takes place, the better the plants can develop - the denser the crop, the better the suppression of weeds. As a rule of thumb, the rate of growth for one day in August is equivalent to one week in September or the whole of October.
